Anti-Spam Guidelines

Regional Law

Customers must always ensure that recipients of commercial messages have given their consent to receive such messages in advance of transmission. The definition of 'consent' and the means through which it can be obtained varies from region to region and customers must always ensure that they abide by the laws & regulations that apply to them.

Code of Best Practices

In addition to regional law, we encourage customers to abide by at least one code of best practices.

These are techniques and methodologies which, through experience and research, have proven to reliably lead to a desired result.

The most commonly accepted code is the MMA Code of Best Practices and our industry is finding that, through it, consumer expectations are made consistent and positive experiences are enjoyed.

Although adherence to it is recommended in general, all messages delivered to US networks must be pushed as part of a "100% double opt-in subscription service" and this is something which we enforce on an infrastructural level. Mobile messaging in the US is not like anywhere else in the world and our services over there cannot be compared to simple "bulk SMS".

T4ME: Text-Messaging 4 Me

As mobile users should always stay in complete control of the messages that they receive, we also provide T4ME: Text-Messaging 4 Me.

This is a supplimentary service which allows mobile users to trace messages back to us and, after authentication, gives them the ability to:

  • View their two-way message history.
  • View and manage their subscriptions.
  • Know more about the senders of their messages.
  • File complaints and place blocks on individual customers.
