The darlings of the blogosphere
The AP via CNN has an insightful article on Ben and Mena Trott, the husband-and-wife team, founders of six apart, a company which produces the software publishing program, Movable Type, and a hosted service, TypePad. Something I didn't know Ben and Mena Trott were born six days apart in 1977 -- hence their company name, Six Apart. How is this related to textually.org? Textually is produced thanks to Movable Type and I'm one of their biggest fans. Anyone old enough to have used another kind of software to update a website off their hard disk appreciates these blogging tools - who don't nearly get enough of the credit for the tremendous success and proliferation of bloggers. It's because of tools such as these, so easy to set up, so easy to use - with every needed automated feature included - and so quick to update, that bloogging is so hugely popular. Read on to learn more about the founders and the company. |
