A very interesting post from Monique Van Dusseldorp on E-Media Tidbits. "In the Netherlands, n!uz was just launched, an audio service that gives access to read-out-loud articles from the newspapers Volkskrant and Algemeen Dagblad, as well as the latest press agency news and a number of trade publications. Working with voice-recognition software, callers can phone one central number and then shout their favorite topics ("sports!" "economy!" "politics!") and listen to the latest reports for €0.55 (US$0.71) per minute. Somehow those categories seem still too broad to me, but I can understand how the service could be further refined. Bored in your car? Shout out some random topics of interest and listen to what news your phone digs up for you. Come to think of it, we might as well try this until Google offers such a service as well." |
