Keeping tab on teens driving habits, by cellphone

As early as April 2005, a new service using mobile phones equipped with global positioning systems will allow Canadian parents to monitor their teen's location, driving habits (including rate of speed) over the Internet, reports Ottawa Citizen.

"The Florida-based founders of Teen Arrive Alive, which had its U.S. launch in May, have entered talks to bring their controversial tracking system to Canada. The unique service combines GPS technology and bumper stickers that encourage other drivers to answer the question "Am I Driving Safely?" via a toll-free number."
