MYMO: The child phone
After the "elder phone", here comes the "child phone". Called MYMO, this mobile phone has been made especially for children between the ages of 4 and 8, reports TechDigest via Engadget. The bright coloured plastic mobile has been designed to appeal to children and, with just 3 buttons controlling all the functions. The headset also doubles up as a necklace, so kids don’t have to carry it. Because it only works with a pay as you go SIM, parents don’t have to worry about phone bills. Plus, the phone can only hold 5 pre-programmed numbers, so kids will be limited in who they can call. Loc8tion services you can locate the MYMO (and the child) wherever they happen to be. Related, in July SK Telecom began selling very similar colourful cellphones with antennas that look like human ears but with a built in tracker using the global positioning satellite (GPS) network.
