New service uses linguistics to search for answers and send reply via SMS

Language technology company Linguit has announced the launch of Nuggets, an automatic search engine for mobile phones based on popular text message technology, reports Geekzone.

How does it work?

Simply send an SMS containing the word ASK followed by your question to Nuggets and get back an answer.

For example, if you would like to know what Nugget knows about the question: When was Madonna born? Simply text "ASK when was Madonna born?" to the phone number 88600 and within seconds you will receive the answer as retrieved from the Internet.

This service costs only 50 pence per question, and is available on all major networks across the UK.

The difference between this system and similar propositions like competitor Re5ult is the lack of human intervention.

The accuracy on the answer largely depends on the quality and quantity of the Internet sources utilised by Nuggets, which are not disclosed.
