Missed Calls Alerts Backfire
Cellular service providers may have launched their latest offering — sms alerts for your missed calls — with much fanfare but most mobile phone users have nothing but complaints. The service is meant to alert customers to calls that didn’t come through because their phones were off, reports India's Mid-Day. "Customers responded enthusiastically but now many are fed up and suspect that the companies are deliberately withholding calls so that they can make money on the SMS. A spokesperon for wireless operator Orange said the entire system was technology-based and that it was not possible for anyone to tamper with it, so withholding of calls was impossible". |
