Text messaging in kindegarten?
Story Hunters reports that the latest fashion is for pre-teens to have a cell phone. "A survey by Circle 1 Network family marketing company, 40 percent of U.S. 11- to 14-year-olds had a cell phone in 2003. That's a significant increase over the 19 percent in 2001." Generally in Switzerland, 12-13 year olds get their first cell phone, but younger siblings are getting them too, most often when a member of the family upgrades their own phone for a newer model and then passes on their old handset to one of the kids. |
