'Mobile-Aid' launched in the UAE
Following a campaign running in Jordan to raise money for cancer patients, another fund raising effort, coinciding with the Hold Month of Ramadan, when it's a traditional time of giving and helping those less fortunate, is being held in Dubai, according to AME info. Called Mobile-Aid, it enables the mobile user to take part in the charity drive by simply sending an SMS message to a designated short code attributed to Dubai charities. The donor will then automatically receive an acknowledgement message and a small sum will be charged to their mobile phone account or deducted from their pre-paid card. 'To ensure fairness, different charities from Dubai will be chosen at the end of each quarter. |
