Cellphone-Network Industry May Face Steep Decline
Just as the $40 billion market for mobile-phone networks seems to be stabilizing, a new study says the industry may be facing a steep revenue decline because of the spread of cheap, more-efficient technology known as 3G, Thursday's Wall Street Journal reported. [Yahoo News] "Global sales of networks will decline 3.5% next year and 1.1% in 2005, before descending into a steeper downward spiral between 2006 and 2010, according to a study by Morgan Stanley and PA Consulting Group of the United Kingdom." |
