Schools text students, parents
Another school system, this time in New South Wales, Australia will be sending out exam results (for the Higher School Certificate) to students by SMS, according to smh.com via SMS: Business Gets the Message. In another related article today in the BBC, a school near Durham in the UK, Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College, has set up a system to bring down unattendence by texting parents to ask if there is a good reason for their child not being in class. The government recently said that about 50,000 children a day are skipping school. For many more examples on schools use of text messaging, check out SMS and Students category. |
