A wish-list of cell phone functions
In an entry for Keitai Log, Kinrei Hana goes over a discussion he had with his class on things "a cell phone can do"; "things a cell phone cannot do"; and "what cell phones mean" to his students. A must read article, but here is what I picked out: -- Phones which adjust according to the environment - It would be convenient for cell phones to adapt to their environment, turning off or switching to voice mail in setting where they are not supposed to ring (at weddings, funerals, lectures) -- Responding to an owner's mood: It would be great if cell phones could cheer us up when we felt sad. -- It would be nice a cell phone could automatically connected to an emergency number if for instance an elderly person grabbed a handset in an emergency and was unable to dial. |
