UK Kids being 'ripped off' by texts
In the UK, sending text messages is too expensive and kids are being ripped off, according to consumer groups, reports the BBC. With texting's popularity increasing thanks to TV shows like Fame Academy and Big Brother where kids are encouragde to vote by SMS, the National Consumer Council wants to know why the price of texting has soared. One of the reasons suggested is that since the price of voice calls has gone down, operators are trying to re-coup somewhere else. |
