G8WAY teaches the Art of Texting
Fenland District Council in the UK has launched a 2 year project called G8WAY for 11 to 18 year olds, teaching skills in mobile logging, creative writing, ringtone melody making and logo design, according to 160characters.org. In May of this year, «WAN2TLK», an adult class on textual expression, ringtones and logos, features and issues surrounding picture phones created an uproar by critics who claimed it was a waste of tax payers' money. The course was offered under a £14 million adult education scheme launched by The West Midlands Learning Skills Council. |
