Info Stress Study
The Age reports on IT researcher Neville Meyers who lectures at the Queensland University of Technology, and who is embarking on a major study for which he has recruited 300 public servants, to find out whether the information overload complained of by so many workers really exists. "The study aims to quantify the information received by workers plugged into the internet, email and SMS, and to understand how they cope with it. Dr Meyers has coined the term "infostress" to describe the anxiety, indecision and, in extreme cases, illness that besets workers inundated with information. |
