Name that Tune

An interesting and thorough article on Shazam has been published in Scientific American and picked up by both Gizmodo and Smart Mobs. A commercial music-recognition technology now available in Britain, it allows people people to identify tunes heard on the radio by simply approaching their cell phone to the speaker. Within a few minutes, they receive an SMS naming the artist and the title of the song.

But the first company (to the best of my knowledge) to offer such technology, was French company Mobiquid. Check them out!
