Vodafone announces adult mobile content strategy
Mobile phone companies are turning to pornographic content in a bid to recoup the billions they spent on third generation licences but Vodafone has become the first operator to announce a detailed strategy for mobile adult content. To ensure that the material is not bought by those under the age of 18, all UK operators are working on acode of conduct for adult services through an ad hoc group called the Mobile Broadband Group and are considering a rating system for picture and video messaging. This month the operator will launch a ratings system for content on Vodafone Live!, with adult content classed R for restricted, according to an article in New Media Zero. |
