Formed in 1995, Regtel is the Independent Regulator of the content and promotion of Premium Rate Telecommunications Services. Regtel operates through a strict Code of Practice which must be observed by all companies or individuals offering Premium Rate Services in Ireland.
European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute is an independent, non-profit organization, whose mission is to produce telecommunications standards for today and for the future.
Ofcom is the regulator for the UK communications industries, with responsibilities across television, radio, telecommunications and wireless communications services. Ofcom exists to further the interests of citizen-consumers as the communications industries enter the digital age.
ComReg is the statutory body responsible for the regulation of the electronic communications sector (telecommunications, radiocommunications and broadcasting transmission) and are the Irish regulatory authority in accordance with EU law which is subsequently transposed into Irish legislation.
ICSTIS (The Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services) is the regulatory body for the premium rate telecommunications industry. They are a non-profit making limited company, funded by the industry.
